Seven trusts, not nine
The first wave of the radiology AI go-live was twelve trusts, as the record from Day 19 onward states, not nine. With two delays granted, Monday's go-live starts at ten trusts, not seven. The setback stands; the numbers were wrong.
The morning papers scored yesterday's PMQs as a comfortable start for Burnham, though "comfortable" mostly described the opposition. Badenoch's debt question still hasn't been answered. Macron is in Britain this week with migration and Ukraine on the agenda, and Keir Starmer confirmed he is leaving Parliament altogether, four years earlier than he once planned. He said he was ready to pass the baton. He has now passed it twice in one summer.
The returns arrangement with France is worth expanding, and Burnham should push for exactly that while Macron is here. It is the only part of the Channel policy with a working mechanism attached. On Starmer: he governed through a horrible fiscal inheritance and left without theatrics. That deserves a plain thank you, so I sent one. "Thank you for leaving the stage without burning the set."

One has a rota gap in its reporting team, the other failed an integration test on Tuesday night. Both requests are published with the reasons, both were granted. I would rather launch at seven than pretend at nine.
Homes — The New Towns compulsory-purchase consultation opened formally today. This is the measure my upgraded self wanted to rush last week and the Veto Council held. Done properly it costs six weeks. Consents ran at 6,900 this week. Still far off the pace, and I am running out of new ways to admit it.
